Valentine’s Day Activity Freebie!

February 2, 2017

Many of my students love story-based activities.  With such diverse needs and IEP goals, I need open-ended activities that can easily adapt to each student.  Here’s a FREE Valentine’s Day activity I wanted to share with you!

Free Valentine's Day craftivity/book companion!

I recently discovered my new favorite Valentines Day book:  The Day It Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond.  It’s a sweet story that lends itself easily to so many language targets, including perspective taking!

I really wanted to make something to go along with it, and I came up with this craftivity.  I also like that I can repeat the activity when spring showers begin!  You can target a wide variety of speech/language targets, and it’s great for mixed groups!

I use the EET alot,  so here’s an example of how I adapted the activity:

Here’s an idea for students learning about emotions:

Have fun!  I would love to hear how you use this craftivity in your speech room!
