Thanks for stopping by! Here’s a little bit about me:
I live in northern New Jersey, about 30 minutes west of NYC. Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, I started out in advertising and public relations for a travel company. When I started my family, I knew the hours and commute to the city would not work for me, so I began the search for an alternate career path. After much soul searching and research, I found my current field. Being an SLP for the past 20 years has taken me on many interesting and rewarding journeys. Currently, I am based in a special education school and have a private practice which focuses on developing social skills in children preK-age 18.
I’ve been blessed with over 30 years of marriage to my best friend and the opportunity to raise 3 incredible sons. My oldest recently married his high school sweetheart, so I finally got the daughter I always wanted!
Feeling the empty nest syndrome, losing my mom then later losing my best friend left me feeling incredibly sad. Enter Spanky, who I refer to as my “emotional support animal”. He came to me with abandonment issues, but we’ve managed to fill the empty spaces in our hearts.
My mom instilled a love of travel, desire to explore and lifelong love of learning. I have a long bucket list of places to see; here’s just a few that I’ve been fortunate enough to experience:
I’m hoping that through my posts we can get to know each other, so please leave comments if you can!
